Along with other professional associations and industry representatives, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) recently met with a delegation from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), including CFDA Minister Bi Jingquan. This was an important opportunity for AAPS to talk about global issues of mutual interest with the CFDA and acknowledge the progress the CFDA has made in modernizing their regulatory processes. On behalf of AAPS, President Binodh DeSilva, Ph.D., highlighted the work of AAPS and the organizational resources that AAPS can offer CFDA staff and other pharmaceutical scientists working in China. Currently, AAPS has more than 50 members in China, including many graduate students and postdocs.
