Tina Morris, Ph.D., AAPS Executive Director
Dear AAPS members –
There is so much science happening here at AAPS and among our members. Just as AAPS staff and volunteers are busily putting together PharmSci 360 sessions, our eLearning events, and articles in our journals and Newsmagazine, we know that you are humming along as well!
I'm honored to pause and recognize the scientific achievements of our members. This time of year, we elevate a few select members to the AAPS Fellow designation, recognizing their impact in our field.
Under the leadership of Chair Ravi Kumar Majetti, the Fellows Committee chose @Bodhisattwa Chaudhuri, James DiNunzio, @Carsten Ehrhardt, @Vivek Gupta, @Devalina Law, @Heidi Mansour, @Yongchao Su, and @Xiaoming Xu as the 2025 honorees., Congratulations to this distinguished group! I look forward to celebrating with them at the Fellows Reception during PharmSci 360 in November.
Speaking of PharmSci 360, the Rapid Fire presentations were added to the already extensive program, and I plan to dive straight into this fresh menu of additional science. Make a note on your calendar to register in August, so you can take advantage of the early bird pricing.
As we gear up for PharmSci 360, take some time out of your day to catch our eLearning webinars that cover the latest techniques; you might learn something that can inform your work. Next week, we have two excellent eLearning events in particular. On Tuesday, August 12, @Hanh Dao will talk about, Best Practices for Sample Preparation and Data Analysis of ASOs Utilizing LC/MS-MS, and on Thursday, August 14, @Rajesh Dave will discuss, Predictive Property Enhancement of Pharmaceutical Powders through Particle Engineering.
Summer has been so busy here at AAPS that I am just now catching up on the July issue of the AAPS Newsmagazine. Right now, I'm reading the cover article, Nitrosamine Control Strategies: From Risk Identification to Implementation, by @Jason Brown and @Kim Huynh-Ba-definitely a topic that is important to stay current on. If you would like to go deeper on this topic, I highly recommend reading Nitrosamines Risk Assessment for Biopharmaceutics Classification System Class IV Molecule Containing Immediate Release Products: Use of In-Silico Prediction Tools and Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling by @Sivacharan Kollipara and colleagues, recently published in the AAPS Journal.
I hope you continue to enjoy your summer and let our science inspire you to look up and ahead.
