The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) offers both webinars and ecourses to help members expand their skills and fill gaps in their learning.
ECOURSES
AAPS ecourses offer extensive and novel educational material to the pharmaceutical science and related communities. Organized and presented by top researches in the field, AAPS ecourses provide practical perspectives from practicing scientists.
Members who have taken AAPS ecourses appreciate the variety of topics geared toward both beginners and more experienced individuals, speakers’ level of experience and familiarity with the subject matter, the case studies presented, and the continuing education credit. Many found them useful in rounding out knowledge required in their jobs.
Ecourses can be used in a variety of ways. Some members used their lunch hours to complete the segments of an ecourse. It is easy to repeat sections of an ecourse to review sections that were not clear the first time through. Companies have purchased multiple (or all) ecourses as training for their employees, either giving employees access or holding working lunches for a group to watch the lectures and discuss the topic afterwards.
Each AAPS ecourse comprises numerous lectures within several modules, and enrollees can purchase individual lectures or the full ecourse to target their learning. AAPS members and students receive a discount. Certificates of completion are issued and continuing education credit is available for pharmacists.
AAPS’ current roster of ecourses includes:
- Fundamentals of Biotherapeutic Development
- Essentials of Regulatory Affairs for Pharmaceutical Scientists
- Immunogenicity of Biologically Based Therapeutics
- Selecting Candidates with Optimal Oral Exposure
- Preformulation in Drug Discovery and Development
- Stability Testing of Pharmaceutical Products
- Fundamentals and Applications of In-Vitro Release and Dissolution Testing for Solid Oral Dosage Formulations
- Transporter Knowledge for New Frontiers
- Formulation Strategies for Oral Delivery of Poorly Soluble Drugs
