It has been a tough week for the opioid industry.
On Aug. 16, President Donald Trump threatened to drag opioid makers into court. A grim report the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released on Aug. 15 shows overdoses—largely powered by synthetic opioids—reached a record high in 2017. Now, sales of oxycodone, hydrocodone, oxymorphone, hydromorphone, morphine, and fentanyl could be on the chopping block.
