The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Research Integrity (ORI), issued a notice that it had taken final action against William W. Cruikshank (former professor of medicine, Pulmonary Center, Boston University School of Medicine) on May 21 (published May 24). ORI found that Cruikshank “knowingly, intentionally, or recklessly falsified or fabricated data” in a paper published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
