Dear AAPS members–

Labor Day is upon us in the United States. Here at AAPS we are looking forward to taking a refreshing, long breath in our holiday weekend before we plunge back into the happy whirlwind that is the preparation for PharmSci 360. If you are a presenter at the meeting, I hope you are busy putting the finishing touches on your virtual content, as the all-important deadline for recording your session is next Tuesday, September 7. Please make sure to comply with this deadline! It is not a convenience date -it is absolutely necessary to allow our staff and our volunteer leaders to put together the best and richest meeting experience possible, and to assure that all content made available ahead of the face-to-face meeting is ready for thousands of people to engage.
If you have scientific "bandwidth" ahead of our conference, there is much to enjoy and read up on this month! September is #WorldAlzheimersMonth, and during the entire month we will share publications and resources that highlight the progress that has been made in Alzheimer disease research. Start with an overview in AAPS Newsmagazine and then delve deeper into the subject by exploring the topical article collection in Pharmaceutical Research on Drug Discovery, Development and Delivery in Alzheimer's Disease with eight publications, including an excellent editorial by Davide Brambilla. You can also share your thoughts and links to papers you value in the AAPS Communities, where @Stacey Axler is leading a discussion about Alzheimer disease research. @HaiAn Zheng has already weighed in-you should join in!
I continue to be excited by our elearning calendar! It's brimming with content every single week this year, and that is keeping my lunch hours full of interesting science. Next week we have another strong line-up, starting with a session on Method Robustness and Transferability for Modern Size Exclusion Methods. Having spent much time with challenging size exclusion method projects in my own laboratory experience, I look forward to hearing about the latest advances in this particular analytical area on September 7. The very next day I can enjoy the next installment of my nanoparticle education and hear about Lipid-based Nanocarriers for Oral Peptide Delivery as an enabling technology for oral peptide delivery. This, by the way, is a big focus area at PharmSci 360 this year-so if you are interested in the latest and greatest on peptide delivery using nanoparticles, do a quick keyword search in the online PharmSci 360 program and earmark the sessions that interest you. With our blend of virtual sessions that will be available early and live sessions in Philadelphia, you can build a deep learning experience for yourself on the topics you want to follow. My own calendar is getting quite full already!
Rounding out next week is a webinar on The Top 3 Excipients (and How to Choose) for Optimal Pharmaceutical Suspensions, so before you head into your long Labor Day weekend, make sure to pack in as much good science as you can!
Even as the daylight hours are starting to get shorter, AAPS is bringing you a full harvest basket of content and scientific engagement. I hope you will let our science inspire you to look up and ahead!
