AAPS Executive Director Tina Morris, Ph.D., started her career as a virologist and appreciates how one discovery leads to another in the long view of science. At the time, HIV and Hepatitis C were the big challenges, and the knowledge of nucleic acid sequence bits left behind by the virus was not yet known. The connection between genome integration and cancer with Human Papilloma Virus led to the first cancer-prophylactic vaccine. Thinking of advances in the pharmaceutical sciences, the AAPS National Biotechnology Conference in May will offer a wide range of innovation-driven presentations, including the area of COVID-19 and many others.
Tina also reminisced about the recent Ask Me Anything about My Career discussion with herself and other AAPS leaders in the AAPS Community. Make sure to read the very robust archived discussion!
Two upcoming elearning opportunities will broaden your knowledge of next-gen technologies, and make sure to keep up to date with your pharmaceutical science area through AAPS’ journals.
Take the long view and see fresh research coming your way through AAPS!
