The importance of the pharmaceutical industry for human society was never in question. However, the clear and present danger of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought our industry into sharp focus. The world recovered from the pandemic due to the significant efforts of numerous research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, regulatory agencies, government institutions, and many other healthcare agencies. Such speed of vaccine development and deployment is genuinely unprecedented in human history. The rapid response of the government and the pharmaceutical industry has also allowed us to evaluate what else can be done to accelerate development efforts to produce safe, effective, and cost-effective drugs. After all, a pandemic is not the only health emergency, and we should not have to wait for the next one to mobilize the might of our entire scientific, regulatory, and business acumen! Therefore, with the pandemic in hindsight, we need to capitalize on our recent learnings and evaluate how we can deliver the safest and most cost-effective medicines for the myriad of diseases. An opportunity to do just that exists through the upcoming premier conference of the International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX).

The 2024 INTERPHEX conference program has been redesigned in collaboration with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). Two programming tracks have been developed.
Track 1 covers non-sterile product development and manufacturing and Track 2 covers the recent advances in sterile product manufacturing. Each track has three themes around which the scientific programming has been developed. These themes include Pharma 4.0 and 5.0, continuous manufacturing, novel pharmaceutical materials, current trends in parenteral drug manufacturing, formulation, cell & gene advancements, automation, combination products, and other areas challenging the pharmaceutical business today. Therefore, from development to distribution, INTERHEX 2024 is a global event that aims to deliver relevant solutions to drive growth and fuel scalability for the pharmaceutical industry.
