Dear AAPS members –
Good leads the way is a popular corporate tag line that stared me in the face on a recent flight home. It has always been true and important for science, especially when the science touches patients, directly or indirectly, as ours does. In this current period of rapid, turbulent, and disruptive change across our professional landscape, there is value in reminding ourselves of our true north: our mission. We are the conveners of pharmaceutical sciences so that scientists can advance cures and therapies that impact global health.
I was thinking about that this week while the engaging, high quality scientific program curated by AAPS came to life at INTERPHEX in New York. We are delighted that the event keeps growing and evolving, reaching more scientists with good science. Congratulations to our partners at RX Global for putting together another terrific event! We are grateful to be a part of this meeting.
In these changing times, it is critical that we uphold and promulgate reliable and good science that adds value to the development of life-saving medicines. As government, academic, and business sectors experience significant shifts, we remain committed to being a constant beacon in your professional journey, supporting you with the resources you need.
Speaking of resources – during my recent travels, I finally had time to read the entirety of our first eBook, Advancing Subvisible Particle Analysis. It was excellent! Have you downloaded it yet? If you haven't read it -- or you have and you want to know more -- have a look at this informative Q&A with one of the authors that our friends at Spectroscopy Online put together.
I caution you against immersing yourself before you have met a few important deadlines, however! April 8 is the deadline for submitting programming proposals to PharmSci 360 – at least for symposia and hot topics. Don't delay if you have exciting programming ideas to share. The same deadline, April 8, applies for applications to the Rapid Fire Committee. If you are currently planning your scientific summer and you are working in pharmaceutical analysis or bioanalysis, put the Summer Scientific Forum on your radar for July! We have a terrific agenda for the meeting, including a wonderful reception and tour hosted by our friends at Eli Lilly and Company. A big shoutout to all our partner organizations – the solution center at SSF is sold out, so attendees are guaranteed a vibrant experience with lots of great conversations between sessions.
Of course, we support your eLearning needs every day. Next week we have two wonderful opportunities for you. On April 8, join speaker Ana Jaklenec and moderator @Kieran Crowley for Applied Innovations in Vaccines for Equitable Access. On April 10, speaker Mahave Chogoule and moderator Fan Zhang will discuss Actively Targeted Delivery of Transcription Factor siRNA-Loaded Polymeric Nanoparticles for Treating Chronic Asthma.
As we continue to navigate a world of ever-growing complexity, I hope you let our (good) science inspire you to look up and ahead.
