Each year AAPS presents more than 1,000 posters through PharmSci 360 and the National Biotechnology Conference. Every single poster was peer-reviewed by at least three scientists who work in the same general scientific area as the research presented in the poster. Somewhere between 5% and 15% of poster abstracts are rejected each year. Why?
- Not including any data. AAPS Posters are data-driven. Poster abstracts that are submitted with promises to develop data in time for the meeting will not be considered.
- Commerciality. AAPS will not accept a poster that pitches a product.
- Mentioning your employer in the wrong section. AAPS Posters are blinded for review. Including the name of an employer or a product in the title, purpose, methods, results, conclusions, or images will result in your abstract being rejected.
- Not following the directions in the Call for Poster Abstracts. The Call for Poster Abstracts includes everything you need to know to submit an abstract for consideration, including key deadlines and the rules for what can, and cannot, be included in your abstract.
- Missing the submission deadline. To be fair to all submitters, AAPS will not accept abstracts after a deadline.
AAPS meeting participants love posters. The poster forums are among the highlights of both the PharmSci 360 and National Biotechnology Conference meetings. Make sure your poster abstract is among the presentations this year – follow the directions in the Call for Poster Abstracts closely.
