Did you know that Springer Nature supports the sharing of research with colleagues and peers? Through a service called SharedIt, readers can freely share a view-only version of any article.
A beta version of SharedIt was tested in December 2014, and there were more than 1.3 million article accesses (views and downloads) during that time. This service is now available to all Springer Nature journals and many partner-owned journals, including The AAPS Journal, AAPS PharmSciTech, and Pharmaceutical Research.
“We think this initiative strikes the right balance, given researchers’ legitimate needs to share content as part of their collaborations and discussions and the increasing need of wider society to appreciate the results of recent research,”1 explained Steven Inchcoombe, chief publishing officer, Springer Nature.
As a researcher, the AAPS journals encourage you to share your published work with colleagues to ultimately advance the science that leads to new therapies. When your article is published, copy and paste the SharedIt link into your social media posts that briefly describe your work. You can also post the SharedIt link to your personal or institutional website. This is a legal way for your research to be shared.
As a benefit, AAPS members have full access to all our journals and can share any article through the SharedIt process. You must have access to the full article through your AAPS account or institution before the “Get shareable link” button appears.
AAPS and AAPS’ journals also use SharedIt links in social media posts. When you see Tweets or posts from @AAPSComms, @TheAAPSJournal, or @PharmSciTech, make sure to share the free access links with your community.
Additionally, remember that AAPS Open, as a fully open access journal, is always freely available! Read and share articles without any login process at any time. Look for AAPS social media posts about AAPS Open articles as well.
