By Kristen Kalmann, Content Manager and David Cipolla, Ph.D., ECC Chair
Over the past two decades, AAPS Newsmagazine has provided members with pharmaceutical news, career insights, scientific features and messages from our leadership about the state and direction of the organization. With the advancement of technology and on-line connectivity, the publication is shifting to support our members who are on-the-go and active globally, while they push back the frontiers of pharmaceutical science. What better way to accomplish this than by publishing our content online? As an AAPS member, you receive full access to every article each month. With this transition to online content, there is an opportunity to highlight even more topics than ever, while streamlining the publication process.
To support this transformation, AAPS launched its first ever Editorial Content Committee (ECC) this summer. These committee members will be playing a pivotal role in shaping the content for the magazine. The ECC assists in sourcing and assessing relevant scientific, technical, industry, and pharmaceutical business content for AAPS Newsmagazine. This includes recommending topics, concepts, or themes; recruiting authors, and providing support during the editorial process. The ECC also provides input on special features.
The ECC members represent a wide breadth of experience from industry to academia, and encompass all career stages from student to established career scientists. This was deliberate to better represent the diversity of interests of our AAPS members. Authors who chose to work with AAPS Newsmagazine receive one-on-one support from start to final publication, including editing support, assistance with artwork to accompany your article, and rapid publication timelines. Please join AAPS in welcoming this group of outstanding individuals who are supporting all AAPS members with their ideas and outreach to bring articles to the magazine.
