The AAPS Board of Directors is responsible for AAPS’ financial health and ensuring that all programs and activities are in accordance with the association’s vision, mission, and values.

Committees

Are you interested in learning more about our committees? The AAPS Board of Directors establishes standing and ad hoc committees as necessary with specific charges to assist the board in pursuing AAPS’ mission as defined in the strategic plan.

Standing Committees

Standing Committees oversee specific programs and processes in board-defined areas on a long-term basis. Contact a committee chair if you have an idea or suggestion. AAPS members may visit our online committee directory for a complete listing of committee members.

Audit Committee

Assists the Board of Directors in discharging its fiduciary responsibilities.

Awards Committee

Approves new awards, recommends changes for existing awards, and works to increase number of award applicants.

Business and Partner Development Committee

Advises AAPS on business and industry trends.

Diversity Equity Inclusion Committee

Advocates for pharmaceutical scientists from diverse backgrounds by ensuring that AAPS is a welcoming organization to all scientists; providing a transparent, inclusive experience for all members; and creating equitable access to valuable, personal and professional development opportunities for all members.

Editorial Content Committee

Assists in sourcing and assessing relevant scientific, technical, industry, and pharmaceutical business content for the AAPS Newsmagazine.

Ethics Committee

Assists the Board of Directors in developing standards and policies and in overseeing code of conduct policy compliance for AAPS.

Fellows Committee

Selects AAPS Fellows as submitted through the AAPS Fellows nomination process.

Horizon Planning Committee

Assists the AAPS Board of Directors with maintaining regular and aligned focus on AAPS’ established and approved strategic implementation plans in order to apply AAPS’ attention and resources where they will best impact the advancement and achievement of the strategic plan goals.

National Biotechnology Conference Abstract Screening Committee

Manages the review of all contributed papers submitted for presentation at AAPS National Biotechnology Conferences.

National Biotechnology Conference Scientific Programming Committee

Responsible for planning high-quality scientific content that engages the audience target for the AAPS National Biotechnology Conferences.

Nominations Committee

Seeks, identifies, and nominates the best candidates for AAPS Board of Directors president, treasurer, and members‐at‐large.

PharmSci 360 Abstract Screening Committee

Manages the review of all contributed papers submitted for presentation at the PharmSci 360 meetings and oversees the screening process of all PharmSci 360 meeting travelships.

PharmSci 360 Scientific Programming Committee

Responsible for planning high-quality scientific content that engages the audience target for the AAPS PharmSci 360 meetings.

PharmSci 360 Rapid Fire Committee

Responsible for the rapid fire presentations that take place during PharmSci 360.

Scientific Advisory Committee

Provides guidance and offers strategic direction on key scientific, technical and regulatory issues that affect the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences.

Student Program Support Committee

Provides support and guidance to AAPS student members, postdoc members, and student chapters.
